From its origins, CORREGE has developed in-depth expertise in temperature measurement ranging from cryogenic applications to temperatures above 1500°C with continuous research into the high quality and high precision of our products.


-253°C to-50°C

In this critical temperature range, RTDs as well as specific Thermocouples can be used. RTDs will provide more accuracy than Thermocouples At these very low temperatures, the use of cables is prohibited and replaced by metal-sheathed extensions (MI cables or cryogenic cables). Likewise, traditional internal components (such as glues, resins, etc.) are not suitable. Thermowells or “skin sensors” are frequently used.

CSI Type

-50°C to +250°C

In this temperature range, thermocouples can be used as well as RTDs which offer higher accuracy There are no restrictions on the use of extension cables, glues and resins. Only the nature of the extension sheath can vary (e.g. 105°C for PVC, 250°C for Teflon, etc.).
All terminations (heads, connectors, etc.) can be used

+250°C to +1 000°C

RTDs will be less accurate when temeprature rise above 500°C. Thermocouple will become the main technology above 500°C Fiberglass extension cable can withstand up to 500°C. Beyond that, sheathed cables with metal sheaths are used.

For head sensors with a metal tube, the tube material is likely to change depending on the temperature. Likewise above 800°C the internal insulation will be ceramic based.

In this temperature range, most glues and epoxy cannot be used

+1 000°C to +1 500°C

Thermocouples with precious metals are used in this extreme temperature range. Types K and N up to 1100°C and types R, S, B up to 1500°C.

On this range, they are more common than head probes and protectors (no more cable probes). Ceramic protectors will replace metal tubes above 1100°C.
